TRAINING DURING THE HEATWAVE - CLUB GUIDANCE
Due to the expected high heats in the UK on Monday and Tuesday. The club will be taking extra precautions at affected training sessions this week including:
As WLNC kit is black which absorbs the heat, we are also advising that players can wear non kit items to keep themselves cool, however they must be able to play netball safely in their choice of training clothes - no flip-flops or sliders to play in.
Although we do encourage players to attend training if possible, as a club we understand if you choose to keep them away from training during the peak of the hot weather - Monday and Tuesday.
- Regular rest / water breaks
- No outdoor training sessions, only indoor sessions with doors open for additional ventilation
- Drinking fountain available to all players / coaches
- Additional bottled water available for all players / coaches

Training restarts and Club Covid Update
As you will have seen over the festive break, the news surrounding the latest Covid variant has been ever changing. Although there has been no immediate changes or impact to sport, we have been following England Netball guidance as closely as we can.
We therefore thought it would be useful to send out a quick update to all parents, to reiterate what the current club stance is on Covid and the measures we will be putting in place to help protect your daughter. CLICK HERE for more Information

Covid Update 30 Nov 2021
As you will have seen on the news, there is a lot of discussion again about Covid.
Whilst we don't want to add to any upset or worry, we felt we needed to just send out a short club reminder about the current Covid restrictions we are following from England Netball.
We have had a couple of questions from parents in relation to the club stance on various situations, so we hope this short update helps to clarify those. Whilst we don't have all the answers, we are looking to keep all of our players, coaches, team managers and families as safe as we possibly can at this time.

Local netball club, Wilmslow Lightning has had nine players selected to represent their county, with an amazing two players selected to represent the Manchester Thunder squad and another two players chosen to play for Leeds Rhinos, both of which are elite performance pathways to national recognition.
Jasmin Farooq, Bella Carleton-Bland, Evie Berry, DaisySutton, Izzy Goodwin, Caitlin Greaves, Izzy Wilde and Scarlett Gill will all represent Cheshire County Netball over the coming season, whilst Jasmin Farooq and Neve Twiggewill also be pulling on the Black and Yellow of Manchester Thunder. Leeds Rhinos are not to be outdone, with Daisy Sutton and Izzy Goodwin being chosen to represent them for the 2021/22 season.
The girls all aged between 11 and 17 will join others from across Cheshire and the North West to represent their respective teams on the competitive stage. Wilmslow Lightning, who are based at Wilmslow High School, are no strangers to success with players regularly selected to join the elite ranks.
Milly Graham, Coach at Wilmslow Lightning commented: “We’re so proud to have another batch of players selected to represent county and pathway programmes. Given that we haven’t been able to play much netball over the past couple of years due to Covid restrictions, our girls have got back on court and smashed it. It shows that hard work really does pay off.”
